Biography

Shah Nawaz Khan, 1914–1983, was a British Indian Army officer who joined the INA. In 1945 the British tried him at the Red Fort in Delhi with Prem Kumar Sahgal and Gurbaksh Singh Dhillon. Protests spread across India. The trials did not by themselves end British rule, but they made the INA a public question of colonial authority. A birth association is given as Rawalpindi district.
